Bankruptcy Breeds Pride in One Family
When I was a very small child my family was forced to file for bankruptcy. My father lost his job and my mother was unable to get one paying more than a few cents and hour. Our bills piled up and we couldn’t get out from under the weight of it all. Eventually everything righted itself and it taught my seven siblings and I about planning for the unexpected. My mother says that she wishes they had available to them some of the options there are today – debt consolidation, individual voluntary arrangement, and some forms of public assistance. I am so proud of my mom for her perseverance and pride. We are lucky to have her.
