Confidently Fighting Fire
It is not realistic to expect that if there were to be a fire that just anyone would be able to pick up a fire extinguisher and use it to successfully fight the blaze. If you handed most people a fire extinguisher they would probably look at you blankly because they would not even know the first step in how to use it properly. Ask them more detailed questions such as “how close to the fire should they hold the extinguisher before spraying?” and very, very few would know the answer. This is why proper fire extinguisher training is required for anyone in the workplace who will be expected to use one in the case of an emergency. You want to be sure that your staff are confident and prepared to handle an extinguisher in the case of fire.
