The appeal of the combination of British cuisine with Mediterranean and Asian influences is hard to resist. There has also been a rise of eating local, native Australian food as of late. There is a wide variety of flavors based on Australian icons such as macadamia nuts, fairy bread, bluefin tuna, and various meat pies. Some of the more famous Australian foods include vegemite, pavlova, Violet Crumble, Tim Tams, Weet-Bix. and ANZAC biscuits. Damper, a bread cooked over an open fire and Bush Tucker are traditional foods no longer commonly eaten.
