Why Are Rainwater Systems Important?
Rainwater systems can be very expensive, especially if a whole rainwater system is being replaced. Some homeowners may even be tempted to neglect their guttering entirely in order to save some much needed cash. This is a terrible mistake.
There’s a saying that you don’t miss air until you have none. The same can be said for rainwater systems, for without you actually realising they are playing a vital role in protecting your home. Still, few people know exactly why we need gutters.
Rainwater systems allow water from rainfall to run away from your home without damaging it. You’re probably thinking that water is quite harmless and won’t damage a house, but in fact it can. If water was left to run down the side of your house, then the walls would almost certainly be marked with unsightly stains where the water had run down. If rainwater was left to drain naturally down you house, it would penetrate walls and foundations and cause rot, damp and structural damage.
People often think rainwater systems are unnecessary and costly. Don’t be fooled. They are vital, and compared to the cost of repairing water damage are very inexpensive indeed.
