A government loosing the battle in business practices

Sell and buying of goods and services in the U.K is one of the main businesses that the government has been very couscous on especially due to the increase in unfair business practices in the country. Just about a decade ago the consumer protection act 2002 was enacted to stop businessmen the wholesalers and retailers from exploiting consumers. Back in Jamaica, the government has taken the prerogative of dictating the prices of goods and services. This being a problem that has taken a longer time to be settled than expected. One of the residents told how she still tends to buy cooking oil and flour from the shops at hiked prices that are unacceptable by the government. The question is, has the government lost the battle when it comes controlling the business sector in the country?
