Exmormon Stigma
Some Mormons think that just because someone is an exmormon that he or she is a bad person. This is absolutely untrue and even goes directly against Mormon doctrine. All being an exmormon necessarily means is that someone committed a serious enough sin that the disciplinary council recommended they be released from covenants he or she made which would make the consequences for that sin even more dire. The doctrine of the Mormon church teaches love and forgiveness. If someone is excommunicated, they are encouraged to go through the necessary steps of repentance, to be re-baptized, and to return to full activity in the Church.
